EVENT HOST

​

Event hosts are key to the success of Lofted View Events. Hosts ensure that the venue is serving our guests to provide a great experience. They learn all details of how the venue functions as well as what is allowed and not allowed regarding contracted services.

Hosts help prepare the venue for guest arrival by cleaning, setting up and preparing the inside and outside areas of the venue. Hosts help support guests by providing beverage services, ensuring the venue functions as it should throughout the event, and successfully conclude the night with cleanup. Hosts help support bartending staff (sometimes serving as bartenders) and are the key point person for guests.

Hosts must be able to work independently and as part of a team. They must be able to make decisions independently and know when to ask questions. We are looking for hosts who enjoy working with people and have excellent customer service skills.

REQUIREMENTS

AGE

• Must be at least 18 years of age

CUSTOMER SERVICE

• Excellent customer service skills

• The ability to work in a fast-paced environment

• Friendly demeanor and the ability to make decisions

PHYSICAL

• Must be able to stand for extended periods of time

• Must be able to lift 10 pounds repeatedly (think setting up tables and chairs) and must be able to lift up to 50 pounds on occasion

AVAILABILITY

• Must be able to work a variety of shifts including Friday Nights, Saturdays, and Saturday Nights

• If available, Thursday Evenings, and Friday shifts may also be offered

Hourly Pay $15-$18/hr + tip pool for evening events (depending on qualifications)

BARTENDER

​

Bartenders help support the guests of Lofted View Events by providing responsible beverage services.  They must be skilled at serving alcoholic beverages including mixed drinks, canned beverages, wine (usually boxed) and keg beer.  Bartenders must be knowledgeable about local laws and have a great personality.    

Bartenders help prepare the bar for guest arrival by cleaning, setting up and preparing the bar area, stocking coolers, and ensuring that the bar is prepared to serve. They must be able/willing to learn to use a point of sale system to track event sales and provide change.  Bartenders support the entire event through finalization and cleanup, including providing support to event hosts. A positive, friendly individual who is willing to help ensure the overall event's success is key.  

Bartenders must be able to work independently and as part of a team. They must be able to make decisions independently and know when to ask questions. We are looking for bartenders who enjoy working with people to provide excellent customer service.

TRAINING

• Must be willing to take State of Iowa I-PACT Training Course (online)
